Alicia and Debbie American have been best friends since they first met in kindergarten. Soon enough, they grew so close that their divorced dads (whom they lived with) began referring to them as “the sisters.” These days, they refer to each other as sisters so casually that people are often surprised to find out that they're not actually related by blood at all!
Growing up in Manhattan as children of the very well-heeled, Alicia and Deb gathered other “sisters” into their All-American “family” including Chibi, Sophie, Francesca, Polly, and their current co-manager Patt Riot.
The Girls share their own secret girl language and odd ways of spelling that are often imitated by fans and friends of the band. It's just a lot of fun to act like one of the Girls!
